Family update

Fiona is sleeping for the moment so I thought I would jump on here and do my yearly update.

Our family has been flourishing to say the least. We are now 25 weeks pregnant with a boy, his name will be Nolan Clark Briggs and we sure are surprised/excited. Our family just won't stop growing... What?... it's not my fault (;

Fiona had her first birthday last month and we are sad she is growing so fast! It truly is just a blink of an eye until you say "HEY, what happened?"! She is very well behaved, especially for her daddy(: Christian and Fiona are the best of friends and we'll just say I'm chopped liver when he's around. Their favorite activity is to tickle each other, which I must say I am glad NOT to be apart of(my bladder is not like it used to be).

Christian is loving school (which is great, because he'll be doing it for another 4 years)! He is currently studying for Moot Court and I'm sure he will do just amazing. He has also been working out like a mad man and put on 15 pounds (Unfortunately, so have I, but I don't look as good).

I have been great. I think this whole mommy thing has totally changed my outlook on life. It is so odd to me that all of a sudden you can't go one second without thinking about your baby. I always think, "What the heck was I doing before I had children?". I must admit, I miss being selfish sometimes (not to surprising if you know me). The mommy job truly is sacrificing everything you have for ones children. Which is totally awesome, except for your brain sacrifice, I really miss it, I think it would benefit my children in more ways than one if I could get it back. We can only hope.

The Briggs family is blessed beyond measure and feel very grateful to have such amazing friends and family!

Till next year! (;

Life is BEAUTIFUL!

Hello friends and family!

I knew that I would be terrible at this! So much has happened since my last post.

First and most important we were blessed with our beautiful daughter Fiona Lenea! She was born on September 7th and weighed 7 pounds 4 oz. Her labor was fairly easy and actually really fun (WOOT WOOT for the epidural!).
She had a very round head and sort of looked like a fat Chinese man (that changed about 2 weeks later when the swelling went down).

She has a very mild tempered personality just like her daddy and seriously never cries. Her favorite activity is to puke on mommy, I heart smelling like regurgitated formula! Being a mother is seriously disgusting most of the time, yet I still freaking love it! Her official nickname is Stinky... we like to say it with a high pitched squeal. All in all Fiona is more than we could have ever dreamed a perfect baby would be like!

Christian is loving having the winter semester off school. The stress of having a baby, 16 units at byu, working 30 hours a week and having a crazy wife put him over the edge. Understandable. He is now only working and playing Basketball. He is improving his game a ton and Fiona and I love to watch him play.

I am LOVING not being pregnant. I have lost a total of 14 pounds in a month. I work out at least 4 days a week and try and make healthier food choices. I started doing makeup again and have been able to work more and more every month. We currently still have a year and a half left here in Rexburg and I am hoping to change my attitude about living here before then. It is really true that you don't find the happy life, you make it. If I could focus on that a little more often, maybe I'll survive the next winter.

Till next year... (J.K.)

Just a few more days

Well I officially suck at blogging. It's now been over 2 months since I have written so here is a little of what's been going on.

Since we have moved Christian has gotten a job at a company called Artco and is really happy there. He work's for the "bridal" department and takes orders from the cavemen who are unable to figure out the website (He definitely has more patience than me).

I have had issues with looking like the hungry hungry hippo from extreme swelling which the doctor calls edema. If I don't sit my feet up all day my feet turn into kankles on steroids. I think I am comfortable enough with myself to post a picture...I think. Other than the swelling my blood pressure has been good and all other tests including the baby's have turned out fine. Well go ahead and say that I am not one of those women who enjoy pregnancy. I think they're nuts and should have the rest of my babys for me.

My grandparent's have been here for almost 2 weeks helping out and it's been super fun and eventful. I love old people. We play corn hole, take walks through D.I. looking for useless crap to put in my already cluttered home, eat really good but really bad for you food, and just sit around and tell inappropriate stories. What else are grandparents for??

We also got a kitten. This has been controversial issue with my family and friends. All I gotta say is... No, I don't touch the kitty litter and Yes, when the baby comes I will watch her like a hawk. She is really cute and her name is Lilly. We originally thought she was a boy and named her Leonardo and the vet informed us she was a leonardette. Oh well... three girls to one guy is Christians future!

My Induction date is set for this Tuesday. Exciting. I can't wait to hold her and see what she looks like. We're all taking polls about how much she'll weigh, her height, eye color and hair color, if anybody wants to throw in a guess... the winner will get the satisfaction of winning (:

My little sister had her cute baby Karson on August 24th and he was a whopping 9 pounds 7 ounces. He is soooo freakin cute and I am so sad I can't be there to snuggle with him.

Wish me luck in the delivery room everybody!

What a month!

Well it's been awhile. This month was full of fun and also not so much fun. We got to have our baby shower in Cali, go to the river with the family and move into a "Less Ghetto Trailer".

I loved my baby shower... my mom did a great job with the decorating. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. We got tons of seriously adorable clothes and super fun handmade stuff.

The river was also a blast! Christian loved loved loved wake-boarding and giving me a heart attack by jumping off giant rocks. I loved eating buffets (:

When we returned to the "Ghetto Trailer"... there was mold all over our bathroom. When we called the landlord to come and take care of it he thought it was to much work to fix it and decided to tell us just to find somewhere else to live because we were asking to much of him. HE was horrible. So then, we found a new place about 5 miles out of town and moved.

During the move our car broke down. We had to bum a lot of rides. Basically we still don't have our car back after spending 700 dollars. Really crappy.

At least were out of that dump. Just 2 more months till baby Fiona comes. Exciting!!!

Lot's of Maternity Tissue!

Christian tries to assure me that it's just maternity tissue, but that doesn't make me feel any better! Ugh, my fingers are swollen too!

We went to our doctors appointment yesterday and when they tried to hear her heartbeat she kept kicking the monitor so we weren't able to hear it. She has done this every time we have tried, the nurse looked at me and said " I hope this isn't what's to come"! Oh no, she has to much of her mom in her already!

We also went to the hospital and took a tour of the Maternity Center. The rooms were so beautiful and the nurses were sweet, then we headed to the recovery center where you also have your own room, Flat screen T.V.'s and chairs that turn into a beds for dad's. Christian was very excited.

I am getting a little more nervous as time moves on, but I try to remember that there is no point in stressing since I can't do anything about it. Man, this mom thing is tough!

Yeah for Babies!!!!

What a weekend! Christian and I got to visit his family in Boise and Baby Bryce was born! He was born at 9:23 pm and is so beautiful! We love our little nephew, so sad we had to drive back to Rexburg, but it was so worth it to see him. Poor Christian drove till 3:30am then pulled an all-nighter so he could finish his homework. Let's say that I'm going to keep my distance today and hold out food if he comes near me! LOL! Well, I should work on getting my house clean now since Tornado Christian came. Ta Ta for now!

Trailer Trash??? Heck ya! Now where are my Christmas lights?

These are some pictures of our HUMBLE abode. I was thinking it would be fun for everyone to see where we live. Our trailer is a fleshy pink and poop brown. This picture is the very front ( We still have not taken the fake cob webs down from the people that have lived here before us, but I figure it will scare away any unwanted guests.)

Above: This is the side/front of the house, those stairs lead to our front door. I really like the siding, don't you?

The above picture if a close up of the front of our house. Now, I think this is great, we could technically tow away our house (if it only had wheels...darn, I'd love to show this baby off to everybody)!

Above: O.K., now here is the great story about this shed. It's Sunday morning at about 11:00, (Christian and I sleep in because church starts at 1:00) so we hear a knock on the door, it was not a small knock, it was a big one. Christian gets out of bed and answers the door in his P.J.'s while I listen from the room. I hear a woman say to him " Hey my name is (Whatever it was) I used to live here and were coming for our shed. Now, this would not have been funny if the shed was worth more than $2.50, but given that it's housed used toilets for the time we have lived here and is made of plywood, it's freaking hilarious. So of course my sweet husband see's nothing wrong with giving her the toilet house and he says "o.k., let me get our stuff out of there" ( There was 2 bikes and some of his punching bag stuff). I look out the window from my room and there is about 13 people of all ages carrying my stuff out of this shed, they looked exactly like a modern Beverly Hillbillies Family, they were all wearing tweety bird type shirts from Walmart and had few teeth to spare .. you know what I mean. Anyways, I get my clothes on and walk outside and all of a sudden we hear our Landlords voice all the way from the other side of the yard, yelling at the top of his lungs " You can't take the shed, it's mine!!" The hillbilly family all drops our stuff they were carrying out and ran over to him. They yelled back and forth for a while Christian and I just about peed our pants... then we heard, "I'm calling the cops!" . We sat and looked at eachother and thought SERIOUSLY? To end this increadably long story, the cop got there faster than you can dial 911 and basically said to the Hillbillys, that they left it here so if they want it back they have to get a lawyer and go to court. So her their parting words were " See you in court!!!" All over the shed that cost less to build than for them to drive over and get it! Ahhhh, welcome to the trailer park!
Above: This is the right side of our little yard. The swing set wont fit my big butt and is about a thousand years old ( I really don't feel like moving it since it goes so well with the weeds). Christians punching bag in the middle of the yard to threaten burglars and of course the shed made of plywood. I actually did not take a picture of the garden that's to the right of the shed because I actually want to have plants there.
Above: This is looking in (half way) to our park. Our house is the one on left with the big sequoia. Breathtaking!! :)

Above: Is the view out of our trailer park (which is where I would like to be) LOL!

Above: This is the hip kitty of the trailer park... Bubba! He is blind in his left eye and also has his left ear sewn on. Christian thinks he is the king of the cats and wants them all to come into our house and give us worms. I know, I know, he means well.

The sign says it all! This was from my very pretty Grandma P!
